He was born on 18th July 1918 in South Africa. His father, Gadla Henry Mphakanyiswa, served as the local chief and counselor to the Emperor. His Mother, Nonqaphi Nosekeni was a Methodist. Nelson Mandela completed his degree of law from Witwatersrand University. He was named Rolihlahla by his parents which means “Mischievous” But his Elementary School teacher named him With the English name “Nelson”.
