The most important cricket-related equipment are still hand-made today. The bats are handmade from cork, twine and leather. Only safety devices such as padding, gloves and helmets use synthetic materials such as vulcanised plastic, etc. In India, cricket was first played by the Zoroastrian or Parsi community in Bombay. The first Indian cricket club was the Oriental Cricket Club, which was established in Bombay in 1848. Following a dispute with the Bristishers for the Bombay Gymkhana, the Parsis had to create their own Gymkhana. The Parsi team beat the Bombay Gymkhana team in 1889. This was an important event in the Indian story of cricket.
Modern cricket
In the story of cricket, modern cricket is dominated by testing and the international one-day format. Some of the great players we all know fondly are the Test Cricket players.
