Santosh Yadav was raised in a conventional household. Five brothers were hers. She was born in Haryana’s little town of Joniawas. Santosh, which means satisfaction, was given to the daughter. Santosh, however, wasn’t always happy with her position in a conventional way of living. Santosh liked shorts to the traditional Indian gowns that other girls wore.
Wealthy landowners, Santosh’s parents could afford to send their kids to the best schools, even in the capital city of Delhi, which was not far away. Santosh, however, was constrained to attending the village school because it was the family’s long-standing tradition.
When her parents objected to covering the cost of her schooling, she respectfully let them know that she intended to work part-time to help pay for her education expenses. Then, her parents agreed to cover the cost of her schooling.
Santosh moved to Jaipur after passing his high school exams. She took a room at Kasturba Hostel when she enrolled in Maharani College. The Aravalli Hills inspired her interest in mountaineering. She used her savings to join a course at the Nehru Institute of Mountaineering in Uttarkashi.
She constantly demonstrated her physical toughness and incredible mental fortitude. Finally, four years after timidly enquired whether she may join the Aravalli mountaineers, her diligence and commitment concluded in 1992. Santosh Yadav reached Mount Everest’s summit at just twenty, making her the youngest person to do it. If her climbing prowess, physical health, and mental toughness astonished her superiors, fellow climbers were won over by her compassion for others and eagerness to collaborate with them.
